Stemming from an idea that began 7 years ago, David A Pinegar’s images present a new and immediate way of seeing. The subjects in David’s images are everyday objects found around the house, but through the discovery of a new method of intensifying colour and light, his images present an original view of reality.
Wall of Colour is David’s first series of fine art pieces. A commercial photographer of 30 years, David’s abstract work provides a platform for him to manipulate the powerful elements that lay behind and attached him to his previous pictures - light, texture, and colour. ‘Painting’ with these elements, David subjects are carefully constructed before the picture is taken, allowing each component to be completely absorbed by the lens. The result is a series of images, presents a completely unique viewpoint, one that reveals the bewitching power of magnified vision.
David’s images transform colour and light into fluid layers, intricately, pushing and pulling them before us. The potential of David’s images to enrich the imagination is huge, each diving and twisting shape becoming something different in the eye go the beholder. Indeed, it is David’s intention is to stimulate the mind, allowing the intensity of colour and rippling textures to encourage the indulgence of enigmatic thoughts.
