All my artworks are printed myself, using pigment inks at the highest possible dpi.
They are left to settle for 48 hrs and then coated with a protective spray, which gives full protection against UV light.
The prints, after being sprayed, are covered with two, of a three coating processes using a water-based transparent satin varnish.
After, another 24 hrs the print is ready to be permanently fixed to an aluminium framed, plywood surface artists panel. I coat the print's reverse side and the panel surface with an acrylic artist's gel medium. This is important, because it is acid-free, so protecting the 100% cotton rag from yellowing.
The artwork is then weighted down for another 24 hrs which ensures the print has a smooth and permanent bond.
Finally, the piece is given a third coat of transparent satin varnish. this coating acts as a final sealing of print to the panel.
All my works and numbered on the back of the panel Plus all my works are given a Tagsmart Certification.
Artist Surfaces produce handmade Museum standard painting panels for artists.
Our Combi Painting Panels have a poplar plywood surface with which is sustainably sourced and PEFC and FSC certified and a welded aluminium subframe that will not react to changes in humidity or temperature creating a warp free panel with lasting longevity.
Poplar Plywood is approximately 40% lighter than birch plywood and provides the same smooth surface to work upon.
The depth of the panels are 38mm or 44mm.
All pieces are registered with Tagsmart Certificates in London
